This past April, the Dove Sunday school training team arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to hold two days of Sunday school trainings for children’s ministry workers and an additional full day Performing Arts Workshop for 130 Ethiopian children.

“The Ethiopian children were among the most well-behaved, bright, and spiritually receptive children that I have ever worked with,” explained Monique Franz, Dove’s International Director.

Dove’s team worked in collaboration with Epherem Arega of Sharon Children Service and a fantastic group of teacher volunteers. The theme of the arts workshop was true to the Back to Jerusalem, “Go Into All the World”. Children were separated into various teams and participated in creative Bible discussions, arts and crafts along with theatrical dance and ministry.

Following an inspiring day of creative exploration in the arts, the team prayed with for the Ethiopian children, and the children were radically touched by the presence of God. Children were weeping and crying out to God, demonstrating the truth of what is emphasized in the Dove Training Series – that children respond readily to the gospel message and very much need the gospel.
